5th Leading French Sire by Winners (2025/26)

By legendary broodmare sire Saint Des Saints, whose descendants include:
Jonbon
El Fabiolo
Douvan
Envoi Allen
The family consistently produces high-class performers, with siblings achieving Racing Post Ratings of 108, 130 and 132.
This is a pedigree renowned for producing winners, particularly over intermediate distances of two to two-and-a-half miles, with the stamina to progress further as maturity develops.
Background & Racing Insight
Purchased as a store horse by the highly respected Monbeg Stables for €20,000, Freya has always been held in high regard.
She has run twice in Irish point-to-points over three miles:
Pulled up on debut while gaining valuable experience
Finished fifth on her second start after travelling strongly throughout and looking a likely winner before weakening late on
The manner in which she travelled suggests she possesses plenty of natural ability. Her late fade closely mirrors several of her siblings, who excelled when stepped back in trip and allowed to utilise their natural speed.
Freya appears to have inherited the class and pace that runs throughout the family rather than being an out-and-out staying type at this stage of her career.
She will now enjoy a summer break before returning to work at D&K Racing in Lambourn, where she will undertake a period of specialised schooling with the renowned Marcus Foley before entering full training with Tom Lacey.
Bloodstock View – Jerry McGrath
Leading bloodstock agent Jerry McGrath was particularly enthusiastic about Freya's profile:
"Silverhill Freya is a very likeable four-year-old filly by Beaumec De Houelle out of a Saint Des Saints mare. Saint Des Saints has become an outstanding broodmare sire and appears in the pedigrees of many top-class jumpers including Jonbon.
She's a good-sized filly with plenty of scope and showed ability in her two educational point-to-point runs. I don't believe three miles is her ideal trip at this stage, and her pedigree suggests there is plenty of speed there.
She's a sister to a black-type performer and comes from a family packed with winners. Beaumec De Houelle is a sire I rate very highly and one whose stock should continue to improve as they mature.
The pedigree is full of quality French black-type performers and she represents a very exciting prospect for the future."
