I am delighted to introduce an exciting new addition to the Kayley Woollacott Racing syndicate team — Dance Ifyoucan — and to offer you the opportunity to get involved at an early stage in what looks a very promising prospect.
Dance Ifyoucan is a 5-year-old gelding by Feels Like Dancing, out of a mare closely related to the family of Tagula Blue. He was first identified in Ireland at Ballycrystal in January, where Kayley was particularly taken by him — describing him as the standout in the paddock, albeit one who would come on significantly for the run. He ran accordingly, travelling well before tiring in the testing ground.
Following the race, Kayley moved quickly to secure the horse, and after a brief settling-in period (having not travelled over particularly well), he returned to work with the team.
With conditions improving, he made his reappearance at Kilworthy on 22nd March, where he produced a highly encouraging performance to win an 8-runner maiden comfortably in a time of six minutes — this despite not being fully fit and still showing clear signs of inexperience.
Importantly, the form of that race is already working out well. The runner-up, Slide Rule, has since gone on to win by 13 lengths, beating a horse rated 81 into third — giving further substance to what already looked a strong performance. Dance Ifyoucan himself has been awarded a P2P rating of 85, highlighting both his current ability and his considerable scope for improvement.
He remains a very raw horse who will continue to progress with racing and time, and we firmly believe he has the profile to develop into a very nice chaser in due course.
The plan for the immediate future is to run him in another Point-to-Point before turning him out for his summer break. He will then return to training with the aim of progressing under Rules next season.
Given how well our syndicate horses have performed this season — with all five horses winning and recording a total of nine victories — we are delighted to retain Dance Ifyoucan in the yard and launch KWR VI.
